This magnificent carved giltwood and marble console table is a superb example of French rococo revival. Louis XV or the rococo style was enthusiastically revived in 19th century France. The console dates to circa 1860.

This exquisite console encapsulates the splendor and riches of the Baroque period , the natural organic asymmetrical forms of the Regency period and the lightness and elegance of the Rococo. It is heavily carved with asymmetrical scrolls , oak leaves and acorns. It is set on serpentine cabriole legs with scrolled feet. The workmanship is outstanding and the marble is original.

This beautiful console would have taken pride of place in a grand 19th century home and today would similarly grace any modern interior.

Length 1070 mm, depth 450 mm, and height 920 mm.
