19th Century Absinthe Glass and Spoon

A French 19th century glass and spoon used in the consumption of the legendary absinthe. The slotted spoon was placed on top of the glass with a sugar cube placed on it , the absinthe was then poured into the glass through the sugar cube which melted into the absinthe. Oh so very Ernest Hemingway ! This particular glass has a tiny chip to the base.
