This charming and unusual metal candlestick dates from the beginning of the 20th century. It has been quaintly fabricated from the decorative elements of an older candlestick producing a whimsical piece in the arts and crafts taste. Decorative elements include floral motifs, a fleur de lys and the symbolic cockle shell from Santiago de Compostela. The cockle shell symbolized the completion of the Christian pilgrimage ending at this famous cathedral. Traces of pretty, original green and pink paint.
