Fabulous Dining Table From A French Bakery

Archive This Item?

This delicious early 20th century worktable from a bakery near Marseille in the South of France was encrusted with flour when we purchased it. The flour has been duly scrubbed to reveal the lovely work- worn patina of the solid beech top. Beech is used in preference for the manufacture of worktables intended for use with food as it possesses a natural antiseptic. Butcher's blocks are similarly crafted from beech. The table is the perfect height for dining and the perfect length to host a veritable banquet ! This stunning table is destined to be the social centre of a very special home.
