A charmingly whimsical French, 19th century, gilt folding screen in the Louis 15th style. The screen dates to circa 1870 and is beautifully carved in the serpentine Louis 15th style. Each panel is decorated with a 19th century hand coloured etching depicting arcadian romantic scenes. The etchings add a pretty rococo feel to the screen. The panels are upholstered .Originally used as a decorative room divider or for privacy when dressing - the screen would appropriately fulfill either function today.
