French Hardware Store Counter

This fabulous faux grained counter was once the focal point of a French 19th century hardware store. You can imagine parcels being wrapped with brown paper and tied with string on the counter top.  The rustic four door unit is also technically an enfilade ( a multiple doored sideboard ) and would look equally stunning placed against a wall as a feature sideboard as it would free standing dividing a kitchen / living space perhaps. The faux grained finish is charming and original. The counter is beautifully patinated and would add warmth and character to any home.
