French Louis 16 Style Daybed

A very pretty early 20th century, circa 1910, French daybed in the Louis 16 style. This lovely daybed is in very sound condition. The pinkish mauve velvet covering is somewhat faded and marked in places on the mattress slip covering. The daybed would respond well to being reupholstered or a good compromise would be to leave the upholstered ends intact and make a new slip covering in a contrasting or tonally matched fabric. Daybeds are an extremely versatile furnishing option , happily doubling as a settee and a spare bed if needed and they are the perfect seating option to place in front of a floor to ceiling window as they do not obstruct the view.  A daybed always encourages wiling away a rainy Sunday afternoon with a good book !
