Large Louis 15th Style Gilt Mirror

This is a large and elegant late 19th century / early 20th century French gilt mirror in the flamboyant Louis 15th style. It has all the distinct florid motifs associated with Louis 15  - garlands of flowers tumble from the central serpentine lozenge and leaves curl to decorate the corners. The carving is typically asymmetrical reflecting the fascination for the natural world at this time. The mirrored glass is original and bevelled.
